Internet connection through PC network?, no Wi-Fi, HTC Desire, Android 2.2

I know that 2.3 rom for Desire has this option in usb connection, but I don't want to update the 2.3 rom.

Now the question is How can I use my phone to visit internet through pc network with usb cable? is it possible on 2.2 rom for Desire?
