How to custom the overclock profile in Milestone with CM7

CM7 support overclock the Milestone cpu simply, the OMAP 3430 cpu original speed is 550 mHz, we can overclock it to 1000 mHz for getting snappy operating experience, but the phone will get to high temperature if you run HD games, consider it’s summer here, I subject to set a lower frequency, like 800mHz.

In the default CM7 overclock profile, 900mHz is the highest frequency, here is the method to get ride of the default setting.

1.Install R.E.explore or other file manager which can visit the system file.
2.Go to /system/etc/ folder, press on the file named 10overclock, select edit with Editor, you should see serval lines text just like this

echo "5 800000000 52" > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
echo "4 700000000 50" > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
echo "3 500000000 48" > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
echo "2 400000000 40" > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps
echo "1 250000000 32" > /proc/overclock/mpu_opps

3.Now you can adjust the value in these lines, above is my profile. The number follow frequency is cpu voltage, default offical voltage is 56, I set 52 for saving the battery life and that is the safe voltage for heavy system usage like taking a photo or runing large games.

Remember to reboot after you save the file, you can check out if it works in Settings - CM settings - Performance - CPU frequency
