Android is has clearly become a hot topic in today’s mobile world. Currently designing the new Android Android developers also face difficulties. In the early discussions, even have the topic like why the iPhone applications look like simple but it is better than Android’s. A last meeting Matias Duarte (Google’s design leader) had answered some question on the next version of Android (that is, Ice Cream Sandwich). He answered the question that how the Ice Cream Sandwich will help application developers make better projects, and across a variety of Android factors, in order to meet lots of platforms like Google TV, mobile phones and flat-panel and other products . Duarte have explained a lot and he said Android OS platform will continue to be a better platform to become more mature.
Here are some of Matias Duarte’s statement quoted , to see how he describes the next version of Android, the Ice Cream Sandwich:
Ice Cream Sandwich will continue the very challenging job of trying to create an embeddable platform that has the flexibility of the web. We’re trying to make one size fits all, and there are different products for different needs. That said, we know it is hard to design in that environment. Ice Cream Sandwich gives you a lot of tools to help you build one app that works more seamlessly across a variety of screen sizes and different form factors. And before that, we’re rolling out tools that help developers focus and optimize. We recently launched features that let you have multiple APKs and specific device targeting. We’re looking to make that transition easier and create really good-looking stuff on Android.
Above is Google’s design leader Matias Duarte to this narrative. For the development of a variety of factors is indeed very challenging, but Ice Cream Sandwich will help mitigate this difficulty. We are very pleased that in the future we will see a “mini” Ice Cream Sandwich interface on the Android smart phone , of course, we hope it is not another “disruptive” version. We would like to add that, iOS open platform so as not only necessary for a specific product (ie only the iPhone and iPad, etc.), and Android is that all manufacturers face a variety of products, a variety of all sorts of hardware problems is significant. Perhaps you think that Android does not quite mature in the current, but with the continued development, we believe that it will get better, at least in the face of such challenges, it will be more growth!
