Nobody has thought of that the ancient Screenshot feature will be updated on Android 7.1 which will be coming later this year for Nexus. Developers has found the code of this new partial screenshot function in the AOSP sources, and succeed in activing it on custom roms for Nexus 4. However it was also hidden in the latest Android 7.1.1 DP1, you just need to modify the SystemUI.apk to enable it.

As the Camera X author no longer update his mod of Google Camera 3.2, I just modified the New Google Camera 4.2, active its hidden features for Nexus 5X, which is Smartburst and 240 FPS slow motion video. If you are using Nexus 5X, it definitely better than the stock Camera.

The new Google Camera v4.2.022.135443920, AKA the Pixel Camera, can be updated through the Play Store, this is an official release version, not from the Pixel system dump, so it’s more stable and clean. You can get it if you are using Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P with Android 7.0 Nougat, but you need root permission.

We know about that both of the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P has the same rear camera hardware, the Sony IMX377EQH5, but only the Nexus 6P’ Google camera has the Smart Burst and 240 fps slow motion features. Why Google didn’t enable those features on Nexus 5X?

While Google is introducing the new intelligent chat apps the Allo, We can see the time on the screenshot is 7:00, which we can say the upcoming next generation Android version is 7.0 .
