As the Camera X author no longer update his mod of Google Camera 3.2, I just modified the New Google Camera 4.2, active its hidden features for Nexus 5X, which is Smartburst and 240 FPS slow motion video. If you are using Nexus 5X, it definitely better than the stock Camera.

The new Google Camera v4.2.022.135443920, AKA the Pixel Camera, can be updated through the Play Store, this is an official release version, not from the Pixel system dump, so it’s more stable and clean. You can get it if you are using Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P with Android 7.0 Nougat, but you need root permission.

The Android 7.1 system dump appeared, lots of APKs required 7.1 to run. I decompiled the Camera APK, changed the min requirements to Android 7.0, and everything works, especially the new manual exposure feature, I tested on my Nexus 5X with Android Nougat, it should works on Nexus 6P too.

We know about that both of the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P has the same rear camera hardware, the Sony IMX377EQH5, but only the Nexus 6P’ Google camera has the Smart Burst and 240 fps slow motion features. Why Google didn’t enable those features on Nexus 5X?

Finally we have the new Google Camera 3.2 update arrived, the 3.1 version was released almost 5 months ago, after a while We found out that the Google Camera App goes Missing from Google Play Store, even some one been told by Play store that it isn’t available in my country, we just get confused by those situation, though that Google was going to drop current camera app or they are developing something more powerful?
