Motorola Mobility Development just updated their Android Software upgrade schedule on Feb. 15, 2012. The main information is, which devices can get the Android 4.0.X ICS official upgrade. Now we know that most of the Android phones and tablets which are released in 2011 can be upgraded to Android 4.0, as Motorola said before.
“As previously communicated, DROID RAZR, DROID RAZR MAXX, DROID 4, DROID BIONIC, DROID XYBOARD 8.2 and 10.1, and MOTOROLA XOOM WiFI + 3G/4G will be upgraded to ICS. Additional details on timing for these products will be shared at a later date.”
If your device has 1G Ram, it certainly can be upgraded to ICS, the the earliest release time of Android 4.0 upgrade is in the third quarter (Q3) of 2012, but as Motorola done in the past, it is likely to be postponed until the first quarter of next year, Well, better than nothing, though the official rom is better in the hardware driver support, also Devs need the compatible lib files which is not open sources to build custom rom.
By the way, I’m happy to see Atrix 4G (MB860) is in the first ICS upgrade schedule, because I’m considering getting an Atrix 4G or Atrix 2.
